The two Elgin races were originally scheduled to run on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 24 and 25, 1933, but problems arose. Read this letter:




Race day, Saturday, Aug. 26, 1933






Fred Frame, driving a Ford V-8 won the morning race and the Weidenhoff Trophy. Frame later gave this souvenir to Mr. Ikert.


The Elgin Trophy went to Phil Shafer, who drove a Buick to victory in the afternoon race.


Shorty Cantlon's entry, 5th in the afternoon.


Ted Chamberlain's entry, 11th in the afternoon.
